Love Post for Paula

May 2, 2008

I don’t hate Paula — let me clear this up — and I don’t ever want to replace her as a judge. And Ryan Seacrest was right to say (like any real Idol fan would also say), “She’s part of our family and we love her.”

Last night, Seacrest addressed the much-celebrated gaffe, “It sparked a lot of gossip about Paula, and I read some of this online this morning. And just for the record, the rumors, they’re not true.” And I have to admit this blog is one of them (read some of this online this morning). I got 1000+ hits yesterday and the other day because of Paula, obviously stating how big this news is for both Idol and non-Idol fans.

I have to admit that last night she won my heart. When asked why was she always so kind to the contestants, she simply answered, “Somebody has to,” and explaining further by acknowledging how hard it is to be critiqued in front of millions of people.

For the record, it’s not Paula who’s to ever hate here (or even blame) but the show’s “obvious” rigidness. But what the heck, it’s also the reason why I love the show! LOL!

Paula Abdul explains herself

May 1, 2008

Hear Paula’s reasons for messing up last night’s show. Apparently she still insisted that she mixed up her notes for Jason Castro with David Cook’s.  Also, as expected, she said that she heard part of Jason Castro’s second song during the dress rehearsal and from there she was able come up with some comments. <sigh> It seems as if Paula was at her “extreme normal” sense, that is, understanding that Ryan Seacrest has meant to ask the judges to critique both songs already. Was she not paying attention or was she as bored as I was when watching last night’s show?

See summary here.

Nigel stripped off of AI’s “obvious” flaw

April 30, 2008

“Nigel was frantically gesturing a single finger to anyone who could see him: ONE SONG! THEY’VE ONLY SUNG ONE SONG!”

EW dishes behind the scenes of “Paula’s messed up moment.”

I can now assume that Ramiele was really slated to be placed at 9th despite all the votes.

If the notes were conceived from their dress rehearsals, then it just goes to show that, (maybe) despite a contestant’s full effort to be “very” good in the actual performance show, the situation is off the contestant’s hands because he/she is already “pre-judged”!

How sad.

And to think this very assumption is what tickles every AI theorists. Why do you have to make it so obvious, Paula?

Paula Abdul messed up big time!

April 30, 2008

Paula Abdul has just confirmed how rigid American Idol is! Paula gave her thoughts on Jason’s second song when in fact Ryan Seacrest only asked about their opinions on the first songs!

The judges rattled all the way! Waaah!
