MANILA, Philippines—The “C” hand signal that Filipino-American Top 10 finalist Ramiele Malubay flashed for Danny Noriega when he was ejected from “American Idol” stands for corazon— Spanish for “heart.”

Danny revealed this in a phone interview with journalists from around the world arranged by Star World, which airs the popular talent search in Asia.

Idols’ First Singles [Volume 1]

April 1, 2008

As first treat, I am posting some of our Idols’ first singles. These songs has officially welcomed these idol contestants into the mainstream music scene.

“Because of You” By Kelly Clarkson: Probably the song that started it all.

“Jesus Take The Wheel” by Carrie Underwood: She’s probably blessed by having this song as her first single for, as we all know, she’s the most successful Idol in terms of album sales.

“It’s Not Over” by (Chris) Daughtry: The very first (and most successful to date) rock song by an Idol.

“Over It” by Katharine McPhee:

Probably the first young love pop song by an Idol.

“Tattoo” by Jordin Sparks: Our latest Idol winner has just made her presence felt with this song.

“Wait For You” by Elliot Yamin: I was not a fan of him back in Season 5, but this song changed it all (aside from the fact that, as far as I’m concerned, he’s the very first Idol who came here in the Philippines for a tour).

“Hangin’ On” by Camile Velasco: Yes, she has a song and it is a remake of “You Keep Me Hanging On.” Nice tone for Camile!

“The Real Thing” by Bo Bice: Carrie’s runner-up released this song last 2005.

You guys won’t probably remember Will — he’s included in the Top 24 of Season 5. He almost made it to the Top 12 but he was beaten by Kevin Covais.
